Saxmundham: Park House B&B

Park House Bed and Breakfast

Park House is a country property offering one comfortable, non-smoking double room. The bedroom overlooks a meadow, and a footpath which leads into the surrounding countryside which was formerly the estate and parklands of Carlton Hall which includes Carlton's nineteenth century parish church. Guests are welcome to stroll in the garden and around the duck pond enjoying panoramic views. There is an organic vegetable garden and seating where guests are welcome to relax and observe the local birdlife.

Hazel and Sunil arrived in Suffolk in June 2000 along with two cats "Buttercup" and "Daisy" joined later by their dog "Buster" and their kitten "Burdock". We enjoy sharing our lovely home, garden and countryside with visitors to this beautiful and tranquil part of Suffolk.

The B&B accommodation provided throughout the year is inclusive of an English breakfast, with a vegetarian option available. Fresh fruit salad and squeezed orange juice are prepared on a daily basis. Organic produce is used whenever possible especially in our homemade bread and homemade preserves. Suffolk is home to many specialist farmers and food producers, so full advantage is taken of the very best, local supplies when planning your breakfast.

The Location is ideally situated for discovering the Suffolk Heritage Coastline which includes many areas of outstanding natural beauty offering a variety of pursuits to visitors. Those interested in golf, sailing, bird watching, cycling, angling, walking, or simply relaxing will be well satisfied with their visit. Nearby Aldeburgh is a picturesque, seaside town with its own fishing fleet and Lifeboat Station.

In addition to antique, craft, art and traditional shops, Aldeburgh boasts its own cinema and a selection of renowned restaurants, cafes and pubs. Snape Village is closeby and here we find Aldeburgh Productions which grew out of the international music concerts established in 1948: the Aldeburgh Festival.

Today, many other events including the Snape Proms, the Britten Festival, opera, jazz, poetry and literary activities are presented in the environs of Snape and Aldeburgh all year round. Snape Maltings not only houses the Concert Hall but also offers many and varied shopping opportunities, tranquil canal walks, boat trips along the River Alde and a choice of places to eat.
