Carr Lodge Orchard Chalets consists of five 2 bedroom ‘log cabin’ Forestry Commission style wooden chalets, nestling on a hillside close to the village of Ampleforth in the North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire. This peaceful and tranquil location is ideal for a holiday or short break and is an ideal base from which to explore the stunning local countryside, including the National Park, ‘Herriot’ and ‘Heartbeat’ country, numerous quaint local villages and the market towns of Pickering and Helmsley. Castle Howard Stately Home and the North York Moors Steam Railway are also close by and in addition Yorkshires spectacular Heritage east coast and the wonderful City of York are just a short drive away.

The local village shop is available 6am-9pm for groceries, newspapers and videos. There are two pubs serving good value country food and a post office. Nearby Ampleforth College has a full size Olympic swimming pool, a sports centre and squash courts, plus a golf course which is open to visitors.

Each chalet has its own brick built barbeque for guests use. Pets are welcome provided they are kept on a lead and not left unattended in the chalet.
