Birdwatching is good locally with periodic sightings of rarities such as Bittern on Furnace Pond and Honey Buzzards. More common and garden birds are abundant. The nearest RSPB reserve is Tudeley Woods and other local hotspots include Bewl Water and Bedgebury Pinetum.
