Chris Rose is an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist who specialises in painting birds. His pictures, mainly in oils or acrylics, are as much studies of light, colours and patterns in the landscape as they are depictions of wildlife. He has a particular fascination for water and many of his wildlife paintings feature aquatic or marine subjects. He always works from life, developing his bird paintings in the studio from sketches and paintings made in the field, usually around his home in the Scottish Borders.
