Ulster Wildlife Trust

The Ulster Wildlife Trust

The Ulster Wildlife Trust is the largest locally based conservation organisation in Northern Ireland with a membership of more than 2,500 and is a partner in the 47 strong national network of Wildlife Trusts, with a combined membership of over 356,000 and a network of more than 2,500 nature reserves throughout the United Kingdom.

The Ulster Wildlife Trust was founded in 1978 with the aim of conserving the natural habitats of Northern Ireland. Since then the Trust has grown to become the major conservation organisation of Northern Ireland. As a membership organisation, the Trust relies on its members' subscriptions to help us in our work, and give us the mandate to influence government and decision makers. We also support a number of branches throughout the Province.

It is the mission of the Trust to 'ensure an Ulster rich in wildlife'. Our aim is 'to help everyone to recognise that a healthy environment, rich in wildlife and managed on sustainable principles, is essential for continued human existence'.
