DJS Photography

DJS Photography, the website of wildlife and environmental photographer David Slater.  

Established since the late Nineties with over 400 photos published throughout the world, David wants to share, through this website, his pictures with the many people he meets in the field and to allow prospective clients to see examples of his work.

The main part of the site is the Galleries so you may sample the range and quality of what he has to offer for sale. Please keep returning to the site as many of the galleries are regularly updated (monthly).

He shoots primarily using a digital SLR, only occasionally reverting to slide film.  Many of the images on this site are scanned slides.

David strives to present work that is UN-MANIPULATED and to show the true conditions under which the photo was taken.  He tries to show the full un-cropped frame of the original image or slide. Sometimes, however, these don't look good on a website so he occasionally and reluctantly crops them.  Manipulation of digital images is kept to an absolute minimum - Only minor unsharp mask, levels, contrast and saturation being used and always to the whole image (never selectively). He never adds or subtract anything to the image (well, almost never!).  David believes this approach helps you to judge his standard and see REAL wildlife photos.
