The Farne Islands are in the North Sea, off the Northumberland Coast between Bamburgh and Seahouses. These rocky islands were once home to saints, soldiers and famous lighthouse keepers, and now a sanctuary for seabirds and seals. Farne Islands are a summer haven for 100,000 pairs of nesting seabirds like puffin and guillemot as well as being one of Europe's largest grey seal colonies.

Farne Islands offer unrivalled wildlife photo-opportunities as well as being a top spot for sea-kayaking and diving.

St Cuthbert lived and died here in the 7th century and is the location of Victorian heroine Grace Darling's stormy sea rescue.
