Mousa is most famous for its 2,000 year old Iron Age broch (tower), the best-preserved broch in the world, where many of the island's 6,000 pairs of storm petrels nest. Mousa also has 400 breeding harbour (common) seals and is home to arctic terns, black guillemots (tysties), arctic skuas, great skuas (bonxies), ringed plovers, oystercatchers and a few puffins.
