Nant yr Arian

This forest area includes one of the Forest District's main recreational facilities: Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (open 10am - 5pm summer, 10am - dusk winter). The forest is shaped like a horseshoe above a deep valley which stretches all the way to the sea 10 miles away. The views are breathtaking, and there is something on offer here for all the family, from waymarked forest walks and mountain bike routes to watching the daily Red Kite feeding. Refreshments are available in the Visitor Centre.

How to get there:

Ponterwyd is the nearest town or village.

Located 10 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44, two miles west of Ponterwyd. The 525 bus from Aberystwyth to Ponterwyd stops at the car park entrance
