Not fledglings ~ but the next best thing, maybe? Couple of hours ago now I glanced out the window and saw a Linnet, not six foot away, gathering Dog hairs for her nest! Better still, the male bird turned up moments later

Not sure what this may mean to others? But, I haven't seen a handful of Linnets in the last thirty years! Saw swarms of them, back then. So I actually consider them a 'rare' bird, on my year to year sightings list.

Now, to know they're building in some hedge within a hundred yards of this cottage is amazing! (Down side is the sheer yardage of hedges within a hundred yards of this ....! I'll probably never find them )
