Prees Heath is well worth a few visits, I have been going there regularly since 1981 and have watched the fall and rise of the SS Blues there, The SS Blue is usually on the wing from the last week in June. If you live near Prees Heath and have a car and don't mind a late night sortie further afield its is worth going along the A49 to Beeston and having a walk along the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal towards Tilston Lock to see the Glowworms. around midnight at the end of June is the best time to visit.
I have recently moved away from South Cheshire to Torquay in Devon so my "territory" in south cheshire/north shropshire is now vacant.
Whixhall Moss is good for the Green Hairstreak and Large Heath, and another nearby area for the Green Hairstreak is Bickerton Hill.
