Picture 100 Birds in 2010 part 1
I recently took part in a friendly challenge to try photograph 100 species of birds during 2010 in South Africa. Unfortunately I fell just short of the target, ending on 92 species.
I have excluded pictures of birds that are also common in the UK (Moorhen, Stonechat, Grey Heron etc)

Picture A few birds on the Wear Sunderland
Everyday at the same time, I go out and see what's about on The Wear (it is right next to my office) I only have half an hour, but the tide is always out and it's a good spot.
They are rubbish pics and only stand as record shots of what I've seen. Most of the sand banks with the flocks of waders etc are on the far side but have a prime lens on order! In one week from the same spot, I've seen Cormorants, curlew, lapwings, many heron, shelduck, kestrals, redshanls, oystercatchers turnstones, a glut of blackheaded, herring and little gulls and a black tailed rat.
