Default Just thinking

I might invest in a pair of binoculars. I use my camera all the time in hides but sometimes it's nice to look with two eyes & scan the landscape etc.

I was thinking of getting hold of a cheap/basic pair of binoculars to carry with me. I don't want anything massive or fancy, just something to have a nose with.

Can anyone recommend some pelase, i've no clue where to start

Any help would be much appreciated

I think I would like a super light pair as I do not actually own bins. Be interesting to see what people will say.

Birding without bins!!!! Come on you two get your acts together.lol!

The best thing to do is visit a shop/RSPB/In Focus etc if you have one by you and try several makes and magnifications and see what feels right for you. You don't have to go top of the range to get a decent pair of bins.

Agreed! Set yourself a budget and try before you buy. I can highly recommend Cley Spy

The issue for me is I will always lug around my camera gear. I can use my lens as a scope with my adaptor but I do miss the ability to quickly scan something without setting the tripod down and setting stuff up.

So lightness is completely #1 for me. One question, are these "pocket" sized fold up style bins even worth the effort?

For lightness/compactness, I cannot recommend Opitcron Traveller 8x32's enough. I regularly forget I'm wearing them.

Pretty good optically, too.
