Default Fashionable choice of bins?

Hi, I'm new to this. I'm not sure if I am really a birder, but more of that in some other thread.
I've had a few rubbish bins in my time and some named budget bins which turned out to be quite poor. Now enjoying my Nikon 8x25 Sportstar EX which are far better than anything else I have had.
I thought that I would investigate some better bins and had chosen to try some out at a proper shop rather than chance used bargains on Ebay.
So I tried out a couple of examples suggested in the £100-150 range from Opticron.
In those that I tried was a Poro pair which just blew away the Roof prism type (for my uneducated tastes that is).
Now I am confused, of the birders that I have seen and read of, no-one buys a poro anymore, is this just a fashion thing? Is there some other reason why I should buy roofs?

Regards, Dave

Still a fair question, I think, but now perhaps a redundant question to help in my choice of bins.

I always find it difficult to pass by a bargain, and the Nikon Sporter 8x36 DCF was too tempting to pass by. I've ordered a pair. At £69 it's worth a try, some good reports out there.

Just for info, the bargain Nikon Sporters arrived. They are very good indeed, at least to my eye. I am really pleased with them, from what I remember from my visit to the bin shop, they are a fair alternative to the Opticron bins I tried.
I won't be looking for poros now....
