Post Binocular Digital Cameras

Hi Alex,

Great post! Remember – we're the friendly forum, so just go for it!

I've actually been curious about these myself and your post has made me have another look.

When I first found out about these there only appeared to be one on the market and now there seem to be many more.

As a general rule I tend to go for simpler products feeling that the less parts the less that can go wrong! Also there has been a compromise on quality to bring them in at a reasonable cost.

Putting that aside, here's a selection of Digital Camera Binoculars.

Number 1
No brand. Binoculars 10x25 Digital Camera Video Photo Webcam 300k Pixels A 4 in 1 product: Binoculars + Digital Camera + Digital Video + PC Camera Specially designed with a telescopic lens for video and photo capturing. View & save your captured video & photo on your personal computer.

Number 2
Digital Binocular with Digital Camera. Modes:- Digital Video Recording (no sound)-Still Photos-PC CAMERA (QVGA). Resolution:-640 x 480 (VGA)- 352 x 288 (CIF). Image sensor: 0.3 mega pixel CMOS sensor Internal memory: 4M*16b built-in SDRAM

Number 3
Zoom Shot Digital Camera Binoculars II. View the action up close and capture it digitally with the Digital Blue Zoomshot Digital Snapshot Binoculars. Zoomshot Digital Camera Binoculars integrate sport binoculars with built-in digital camera. Watch the action through the binoculars, and shoot and store over 100 pictures at a time. Each shot automatically "zooms" to 8x binocular magnification. Then download images to a PC, and use the special software included to edit, print and email.
  • 8x21 prism binoculars including 640x480 resolution camera
  • 8MB memory
  • CD-Rom
  • Carry Case
  • USB Cable
Number 4
Bushnell 8x30 Image View Binocular with 3.2 Megapixel Digital Camera

I don't know anything about thes Binocular Digital Cameras but I'd probably go for the branded Bushnell one as you would expect them to be up there in terms of quality.

I'll continue to look around for more information.

Smile Binocular Digital Cameras

Hi Alex,

I found these examples on Amazon. Here's the link: Binocular Digital Cameras

Looking more closely at the photos it seems the camera is in the centre and not integrated into the binocular optics.

I'm going to try to get a pair to try out for review purposes, as you can see there are a wide range of prices.

I can't imagine anything under £100 will be any good for recording birds. If you think about it, how much would it cost to get a half decent pair of binoculars and digital camera? Probably over £100!
