Default Indian bird books ?

We're off to India next spring in search of Tigers but we are unsure as to which bird ID book to take we have had 2 recommendations
"Pocket guide to the birds of the Indian sub continent"
and
"Field Guide to the Birds of the Indian Subcontinent"
I like to have a quick look thru any ID books before I buy but have only been able to find the Pocket Guide ... as yet so if anyone has or seen both your recommendations would be very helpful.

The wife and I got fed up with hols to the Med, wherever you go on the north Med coast is the same. So we now save up and only have a hol abroad every second year that way we got to see Kenya, Gambia and Sri Lanka but also going for a bit more than the usual 2 weeks.
