Default Field Guide to the bird songs and calls of Britain and northern Europe

I bought this book about 2 weeks ago primarily because I was looking for an audio guide to bird song and calls but also because it had good reviews.

Although it's called a field guide, it is about A5 in size and is a hard back, so won't fit into most pockets easily. It is well laid out and has all the usual information you will need to identify birds - plumage, habitat etc. As this book is primarily about bird songs and calls, each species has a detailed description of the call and song and is complimented by recordings 'from the field' on 2 CD's.

There are 200 species covered in the book and it also has useful information on birdwatching in the field techniques and avian topography.

I would recommend this book, not as a field guide, but for the CD's which were easy to load onto my MP3 player, in my opinion this would be the best use of this book actually in the field.
