Today I went to Marton Mere. It was Ok with not too many grockles about. BOTD was a blackcap (a lifer) and a wren so close that I could have caught it. I did but only on my card.

You're right, we did, which not only means my memory is shot and my records are crap, but we only had 3 lifers instead of 4!!!!!!

I can't decide between two for my BOTD so I am making them "joint BOTD". They were both seen and photographed at Amwell NR in Herts this morning.
First up - Reed Warbler

And secondly, a Cetti's Warbler. Heard every week but rarely seen!

Unfortunately not Alan, they were on the move too much. Had fantastic views of them but they are best photographed outside of the breeding season.

Bird of the day today was a Garden Warbler in full song right outside my front door when I was leaving for work at ten past six this morning. Another good street tick, 52 in all now :-)

Good one of the Cetti's. I had a good view of one today but it had gone even before I had lifted my camera. I've still only managed one photo of it's head. The Reed Warbler ain't shabby either.
