A lovely walk along a local stream, we saw Kingfisher, Robin, and
one of our favorites Long Tailed Tit.

My bird of the day has turned out to be two. A great spotted woodpecker is in my garden every morning and as I watched it today I realized that it's a pair.
Apart from them I have a nuthatch which has been busy rearranging the nesting box that they used last year, he's (I take it it's the male) been making the hole smaller and longer with mud.

My BOTD is a Redwing that was in my garden this morning along with 7 Blackbirds, 2 Robins, 2 Dunnocks, 5 Woodpigeons and 15+ Black-headed Gulls. There were some very hungry birds in my snow covered garden this morning!

Nice selection there Judith. What snow? We've had only a few flakes! The fells have a covering though. Very heavy frosts here, lasting all day, just like I remember them when I was a lad!

My BOTD is a Fieldfare in the garden - a new garden tick. The leucistic Bullfinch has been back again too.
