Default Springwatch!

Here's where we can discuss the events we've seen on BBC's Springwatch.
I enjoyed the Dorset chalk hills last night,I'd love to see an Adonis Butterfly!
I was looking forward to the clip about the Spotted Flycatcher.......but missed it? Maybe I fell asleep? lol

Yep Super ** Spoilt by the Presenters**............The Guy from the Chalk hills should have control of the programme......

Avocet young and Wrens and the Swallows......Excellent...... Enjoyed the info over Raptors

Regards Mike

I agree with Mike above......excellent seeing the Avocets etc! I also found the information on the Skylarks fascinating...don't stop for a breather do they! I was watching and listening to a Skylark high in the sky on my early walk last Saturday, I cannot think of a better start to a day.

I think but may be wrong that the Spotted Flycathers are on this evenings programme, Ruth.

Why don't you like the presenters Mike?
I think they are just what we need to encourage youngsters to learn about the world around them.......their enthusiasm (& knowledge in Chris' case) is to be applauded.

Think there are much better Wildlife presenters in the BBC............Find the Information Educational................................

For both Adults ad Children.....but for me Personally Humble should go back to her Farm and Peckham is so full of himself.....there other people who can bring the Programme over in a much beter way.......as an Example the Guy with the Adonis Butterflies...deer and Foxes and Badgers he gets to the point delivers the topic well and is very interesting were as the two Prima Donna,s talk over each other try to out do each other......but thats my view they are just not for me

Regards Mike

Sorry Ruth but I find them a bit childish for so called Professional Nature / Bird Presenters there are people who also can enlighten and educate children as well as those two

I would prefer to talk just about the programme content but cannot help myself from joining in and commenting on the presenters.

I personally think kate Humble should now concentrate on her role as President of the RSPB and leave Spring/Autumnwatch. I think she has served the programme well but her irritating questions and looks of surprise when told the answers to her questions is getting a little grating! Chris Packham does not need a co presenter and would be better suited on his own presenting. I feel we would learn a lot more information from him without having Kates constant interruptions. Simon King should stick to the outside broadcasts, he is doing a brill job!

You are not alone.

I have watched all of 20 minutes of this series. I have tried. When it was just Bill and Kate with Simon out and about I used to cringe occasionally at Bill but I still watched every show and it was about the animals.

Now, it's, well, all about, the presenters. I hope they change the line up for the Autumn.

I find the content interesting and varied current and topical Peter........I agree 100% its more about the Presenters also agree with Judith.....Simon King as a real passion for his subjects and does the Outside Broadcasting slot really well,,,,,SECOND THAT time for a change

A good programme again last night. I especially enjoyed seeing the G S W chicks, Kingfishers with some brilliant footage and seeing the Sparrowhawks on 'Sparrowhawk Island' in Cheshire, Ruth's territory.lol! Do you know of this 'Island', Ruth? The Sparrowhawk displaying was brill, who would have thought such a bird could be so gentle and loving.lol!
Kate irritated with her constant repeating of what Chris had already said, if only she would stop doing that I could live with her for another series.lol!

Great news with the 2 million pounds Lottery funding! It should help quite a few wildlife ventures to get off the ground!

Never heard of it Judith but have done some searching and found this superb website;

Sparrowhawk Island - Real Sparrowhawks and other wildlife in the wild captured live on web cam - The UK's Number 1 website for Sparrowhawks in the wild

It must be quite nearby as the telephone code is the same as mine.....I'll try to find the exact location!
More of the great footage can be seen on the website as werll as lots of info etc.
