[QUOTEI'm having no luck with Green Woodpecker or Nuthatch - they'd do for now.[/quote]

Funny, we dont get that much in our garden but G woodpecker has been common visitor last few months and we had a pair of nuthatches on feeder this week, together with willow warbler on feeder at same time.

Hi Dennis, yes managed to see one waxwing on the 11th, three on the 19th and 50+ on the 24th this month, all in Bristol.

They've always been one I wanted to see since I was a kid, but to my discredit I'd never made any effort at all until this year to see one. In the end they came to me

Good luck with your arctic rolls

Hoopoes for me; I saw a pair in Italy a few years ago and fell for them. My family were very concerned when I came back from holiday saying I had fallen for a gorgeous, elegant Italian bird until I showed them what I meant

Still after 30 years +, ROUGH LEGGED BUZZARD has not fallen. Missed at least 7, and know there around but and I look, but no joy.
