Do you know, these things just make me feel jealous! You sound like a lucky man Peter.

My garden's quite small so we don't get those numbers depite how much sunflower hearts, nijer seed, fat balls, worms etc I put out.

I'm not doing it until tomorrow morning. However I looked out this morning for 5 minutes and saw a mass migration through the garden. Doubt that will happen again.

I am Gavin, thanks. I back onto open countryside on two sides of my house and I put out a lot of food as do my neighbours, that really helps. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Or today as it is now, I should go to bed really.

Thanks. I'm chuffed that the brambling, wren, nuthatch, treecreeper and bullfinch all turned up on cue.

The brambling was a lifer for me at Christmas. It was probably around in recent years but it is so similar to some chaffinches that it might be tricky to spot (and I didn't until this year). I'm sure you would though

Wow you saw these all at one time?!

Did I do this wrong? The way I read it (my first time) If you see two Bluetits at the same time count two, but then if you see four count four not six

Yes, these were all seen at the same time. Last weekend we had about 85 Goldfinches, and last winter we had up to 44 Blackbirds in the garden at one time!
We do feed extensively throughout the year at a number of feeding stations though which attracts birds in large numbers. For example we get through about 12.5 Kg of Sunflower hearts a week, and that is only one of nine different foodstuffs that we put out.
