Default RSPB Old Moor

Today I got out for my first proper session of bird watching this year with the help of the Wakefield RSPB group. We went to old Moor near Barnsley and had a good day. I saw 45 species in total, the highlights being a group of Brambling at the feeding station (along with a Willow Tit, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and numerous Bullfinches,) a Goldcrest that kept popping out of the bushes and a Sparrowhawk which sat a few hundred metres away and let us take photos!

I managed to take a few pictures today and will post 3 here, the rest I shall put into my album. It was a really enjoyable day even though I still haven't thawed out yet!

Forgot to say, we also saw 2 foxes (possibly 3) at about 11 o'clock. They were being watched and mobbed by some angry Crows!

I didn't see any Long Tails today. Could have had 46!
