Default Misplaced Affections

Given the relatively mild winter we are having, England in particular (I know Scotland has had some rough weather) has anyone else seen signs of an early spring?

Today at Leighton Moss I saw Shelducks displaying to females and the males fighting one another. Also, a pair of Redshank attempted to mate. There are spring bulbs shooting up everywhere too!!!

If this continues and there are early young, I worry about the possibility of an unexpected cold snap.

I spent most of yesterday morning gardening and I could hear Great tits and Coal tits piping in the woods opposite......I half expected to hear a GSW drumming but didn't tho my sister who lives tother side of Cheshire did while walking her dog yesterday!

My male House Sparrow was sat on top of "his" terraced nestbox chirpping constantly.......trying to attract a mate......there was quite a bit of interest too! lol

Snowdrops are in flower and Crocus almost.

Spring is almost sprung......tho temps are set to dive by the end of the week!
