Default TV, Radio & Magazines

I thought it might be an idea to start a thread where we can discuss birding, and nature in general, as seen or heard on TV & radio, or read about in magazines - interesting articles etc

Thumbs up Springwatch 2009

Did you all tune in last night for the first episode of this years Springwatch?

I did and enjoyed the programme, especially the piece about the Goshawk, the slow motion film was fascinating.

Looking forward to watching the Lapwing chicks and seeing if they can film a polecat close up.

Default Spring Watch

Hi,alanjns i too will be following Spring Watch,Chris Packham is very knowledgable but I think our John could give him a run for his money!!
Out on Sunday I was lucky enough to see a young Lapwing,at the other side of a ploughed feild, very hard to get a photo and mum was getting stressed,so I left them alone.

Default Springwatch

The first two episodes of Springwatch have been superb viewing, made even more enjoyable by having no Bill Oddie. Chris Packham is excellent, Simon King as always is consumate in his knowledge and presentation, the new chap with the hair and windmill arms and hands is not growing on me, and Kate is Springwatch.

The variety of wildlife covered is truly amazing, from birds to badgers and everything in between, it is sure to inspire our youngsters that there is more to life than computer games, x boxes, and playstations.

It's amazing just how robust those Lapwing chicks are, they didn't seem affected at all by being left alone in the rain in an exposed nest.

The orphaned badgers were cute - our house gave a collective 'ahh' when that one tried to get up the chimmney!
