Default nikon 300 mm F2.8

Looking for mint condition Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR

To be used as handheld lens, used to own one, but traded in for Nikon 600 mm lens, but now like to have one again!!

Cant seem to find one in good condition!!

I have a very old manual focus 300/f2.8. Fantastic lens, never use it now. And it's far from mint, looks like it got used by a war correspondent!! I assume you are watching on e-bay?

There hard to get second hand and in good condition, i keep looking at photography forums, on line camera shops for used equipment and ebay.

They are just fantastic lenses, for bird photography you need a good long reach lens ie a 500 or 600 mm lens with or without teleconverters, and also a good walk around lens ie zoom or fixed focal lenght

Already have the zoom 70-200 f2.8 vr f ed, the 600 mm f4 vr f ed so a 300 mm or even the 200-400 f4 vr f ed, are one of the final investments i am going to make

They are expensive but they keep there value, and last you a life time!

Good luckin your hunt for one.
Popular due to it being a lot lighter than the 400's and higher. And being that tad bit more affordable then the larger ones. People don't like to give up on them so easily.

Good luck, a dream lens I've just had a 300mm f4 & Nikon 1.7 tc for my upcoming b/day, i am really loving it although not really had a lot of time out with it.

I only got the tc yesterday so am off later for a play, when the light is dull
