Wouldn't fancy humping nearly 16kg about though.

If you can afford the lens, you can afford to have your butler carry it to the hide for you.

Nothing wrong with it and I wanted one myself but the shop didn't have one in stock so I bought the 150-500. It cost a bit more and at the time and I was dithering but in the end I got it. They are about £150 dearer now.

Enjoy the lens you have and don't worry about what others are out there otherwise you'll never be happy. Me ?, I want a Canon L but unless I win the lottery it won't happen for a while. Mind you I did see a Canon EF Macro 100mm F2.8L IS that should have my name on it.

So many toys needed but so little money for them.

Worked with the new Canon 800mm 5.6 yesterday, Was totaly not impressed, the photos I got with the sigma 500mm were tons better and are posted on 3 sites.

I would go for the Sigma 150-500mm. The prices are in the same ball court.
OK the 120-400mm is a stop quicker but for birds, size matters, otherwise you are
cropping all the resolution out.

Nothing like trying to make someone feel inadequate, in a nother post you throw in "I have a spare £1000" almost like showing off !!!!
