Default Birding jacket

Now the warmer weather is coming I am thinking of a new lighter jacket for birding.Something lightweight that can be stuck easily in a rucksack when going for our short trips onto the moors. My wife likes her Paramo but as well as being overpriced to my mind I do not like the feel of the material. Any good suggestions out there, welcome views of what we all prefer.

Some great birding jackets in Skipton or Knaresborough markets cannot remember the maker but they are at greatly reduced prices.

Depends on what you mean by a birder jacket? This time of year I wear light jackets that as you say can be put in a rucksack or tied around the waist. I often start out cold and end up hot.

Just looking for something light but not as noisy as some of the lightweights around.I have a couple that live in the bottom of the birding bag but the material is so noisy it can be distracting when you move your arms.Maybe I am looking for something that does not exist.

Being an F1 fan I buy up a fair few team jackets off e-bay. My favourite is the old Brawn GP team jackets which are made by Henry Lloyd. Very light weight but noise free, waterproof too. I wore it this morning only 9 degrees out there!! It also has the right number of pockets of the right size for all my junk!

I'd take a look in a sports shop or team shop where they sell a variety of that kind of wear.

A lot of those type jackets can be machine washed many times too and given how messy I get this is essential as Erindoors washes everything to death.
