I wondered where this was going when I saw the title - ''Peace from Alan's end'' has been a long held wish from many I know

I remember the day very well, I still have flash backs now. It was the 1st of July and scorching hot and I ended up foaming at the mouth, literally, and my head got a tan and then peeled all in the same day. I was a shivering, quivering wreck by nightfall.

You forgot to mention the blood running down my arms from the overgrown brambles and the many, many bites from Horseflies - although you came off worse there.

Still, amongst all the birds we saw that day, I had Sand Martin, Linnet and Skylark which were all lifers for me, and lets not forget the nesting Common Terns on the docks.

I've never had a place named after me before - have you put up a blue plaque? Perhaps it should be twinned with Longton Marsh - the second place you tried to kill me, and I thought this was the friendly forum

Sounds like you had a good day out, congrats on the Woodcock.
