Out and about with my new scope........!
Only had chance 2 use it twice due to the bad weather recently, but am well impressed with it to say the least..the images are bright and sharp even on full zoom.Though have to say! keep needing to give my eyes a rest after a while, maybe thats because i am long sighted and need glasses short up, i really do not know.First time i used it i spotted a pair of common sandpiper that you could not see with my bins as they were too far away....makes me wonder what i have missed for the past 12 years without one!(not that i am really bothered though!).Went out with it for the second time on the 11/07 to my local hotspot for birds brockholes quarry..saw amongst others ,1 common sandpiper, a pair of little ringed plover(according to another birder who was there!) and a green wood pecker a lifer for me....as well as my mate the little owl on the way there.Had a go at digi scoping hand held again, with my compact ....prob wrong camera as it has an external zoom, i know you can use them but internal zooms are supposed to be better, did it and got some quite good shots of the plovers..!.Digi scoping is something i am going to be looking into.Although you will not get the quality of pic of a proper decent camera lens, for memories sake and id purposes ...i think i will be investing in a proper set up soon...although having said that some of the sites on digi scoping have some fantastic pics on them.......!.PS ..There has also been a family of jays out side my flat for a few days now.....the young one/s dont half make a racket....they have even been flying down to eat bread.....nice to watch..!ps ps Apparently just after i was at brocks ,knowing me it was there! a med gull turned up.........i would not have known to be honest anyhow !even if it was there....!exciting times ahead.....!Peace.!
