Alans end......!

The name is mine for a place where i first met alan and half killed him !!!!!!! through dehydration,heatstroke and general exhaustion heehehehehe.Its on the ribble near preston docks and borders a canal,fields,a tip,a small marsh and small patches of woodland a great variety of habitats.Its a place i often go to for solitude and just to reflect and of course watch birds ...here is a list of what i saw today buzzard,kestrel,carrion crow,snipe,shelduck,mallard.great,blue, coal and...

Only had chance 2 use it twice due to the bad weather recently,but am well impressed with it to say the least..the images are bright and sharp even on full zoom.Though have to say! keep needing to give my eyes a rest after a while,maybe thats because i am long sighted and need glasses short up, i really do not know.First time i used it i spotted a pair of common sandpiper that you could not see with my bins as they were too far away....makes me wonder what i have missed for the past 12 years without...

On and around the river ribble,have seen the following in the last 2 days.!Snipe,wheatear,corn bunting sort of sure?,skylark,lapwing,shellduck,oystercatcher,swif t,swallow,sand martin,widgeon,canada geese,cormorant,goosander,great crested grebe,nuthatch,greylag geese,goldfinch,muteswan,various tits,gulls,....all within an half hour cycling distance from my flat.!Peace.!P.S also explored (courtesy of google earth!) a large pond ,that had obviously been set up to keep the wildfowl there for when...
