Fife 11 - 13 May 2009

Posted 14-05-09 at 12:06 AM by clydebirder (Scottish Birding)

Had a great time in Fife, highlights were an unexpected 1st summer Great Northern Diver at Fife Ness, also large movements of Gannet, Guillemot, Kittiwake and Sandwich Tern past there.
We had amazing views of a 1st summer Iceland Gull at Anstruther Harbour and also good views of a Badger at a set in local farmland.
All in all a successful few days, will post some photos when I sort the out, all 2500+ of them!

cheers, John

To my surprise within 15 mins of leaving the car I heard one calling, I went to wards the area the call came from and the bird started singing, I managed to get some distant images of the bird feeding high up in a tree. Also saw my first Swallow of the year there.
