A short walk around a local Fisheries.

An early morning walk (well 8.45am) today (10th Oct) around the Fisheries was very refreshing! On arrival the mist was hanging low around the trees and hedgerows in distant fields, giving a very autumnal scene! The sun shone as I started my walk and the birds were calling..well Robins and a Green Woodpecker being the most vocal, the latter yaffling teasingly several times on my walk but never showing! Not a great selection of birds today but lovely to see and hear nonetheless. Blackbirds, Blue & Great Tits, Dunnocks, Robins, a small flock of Linnets, a Wren heard, plenty of Crows, Magpies and Woodpigeons, Heron and a couple of Buzzards. Dense cobwebs on the hedgerows and brambles were showing very well with the sunlight on them. At times it was so quiet that I could hear the sound of the dew on the leaves of the trees dripping, lovely to walk in such a peaceful place and a good start to the day. It had been over a month since my last visit here, nothing had really changed yet. The leaves on most of the trees were still green and the brambles still had plenty of ripe fruit and the berry trees were still heavily laden with berries. Plenty for the Redwings and Fieldfares to eat when they arrive. After a couple of hours I was ready for a cuppa so I headed for home after my relatively short walk, I tend to stand and wait at length at the Fisheries to see what will appear, it is surprising how time passes when doing this.
