Tour of Hull area :)

I am absolutely knackered, shattered, and speechless.
First of all. A big thank you to Clydebirder without whom we would never have noticed a lot of the birds or even recognised.
The weather was not at it's kindest but we didn't get caught out in a lot of rain. That was the plus.
First stop, Blacktoft Sands. At the moment, I cannot remember much of what we saw, I'll have to get a loan of Alanjns notes as I forgot to bring a pen to take notes.
Blacktoft sands was pretty good for birding and a lot of lifers for me as well as Far Ings which was pretty darned good too.
We were heading home as Neil and Simon finally appeared and that's when the weather started to turn out nice. Typical.
Far Ings on the Saturday. Absolutely brilliant! Clydebirder must have got fed up with us pointing and asking every few seconds, What's that? In an instant, he told you. Pretty amazing when to us, it was just a black spot in the distance.
I can't decide which were the BOD as there were quite a few lifers for me. Marsh harriers, Osprey, willow tits, and my kingfisher.
Not to mention all the others. Unfortunately, no bearded tit. Too windy for them and I don't blame them.
On Sunday before going home, myself, neil and simon went to barton broads. It was pretty quiet there bird wise but saw loads of little grebes. I hardly see one all year and then we see about 8 in the one place.
Weather was a bit more drizzly and cold and windy again.
I think the highlight was the Peregrine going in for the kill. Neil saw the attack and as I was looking in the same place but didn't see it, it prompted me to get new binoculars on the Sunday. Hopefully I won't miss as much as my oher bins were too narrow.
And the Osprey catching a fish.
But the best of all...........seeing a Booby. That's another story though
Oh. Forgot about the Wood Dove.
Thanks again John for the great help that you were to us probies. Useless amateurs more like.
Had a great time and would recommend everyone to go on an outing with the forum members.
So, when's the next outing then?

Alan, who was the Brut, you or the prossie?
It was another great outing and we had a laugh as well as seeing some good birds, well some of us seen them anyway lol
Watching 2 Peregrines working on a flock of Pigeons was incredible as they are supreme masters of the air despite being unsuccesful on that occasion.
It was a great outing and now will need to start thinking about the next one and how to find more species, 65 will be hard to beat
here's to next year

Was that the total then. 65. Pretty darned good considering how the weather was too.
I'm just getting round to uploading my pics. A lot of them were just terrible LOL.
Alan, you must have that kerb walker look encouraging those ladies of the night.
Alan, give me a copy of your list. I can't remember every bird I saw. I missed the Kestrel and turtle dove.
Thanks Maggie
Got abut the best of my pics up which isn't saying much of course. At the moment, just the Far Ings ones.
