Before I go

Posted 24-04-10 at 08:44 PM by Maggie28

Just passing time before getting things ready for the off.

Looking forward to this trip as last year I had just bought a dslr camera and didn't know how to use it properly.
Now I have what I consider a better dslr and know my way about it now, I hope to get some great pictures this time.
And to capture some different birds that we would probably never see in Britain?

Anyway, found out the bosses were not going to pay us travelling time. Needless to say...

Strange and crazy

Posted 21-04-10 at 07:20 PM by Maggie28

Been keeping very busy lately. New job is creating a lot of paper work.

Was in Port glasgow today and what I would have done to spend more time there. Tide out, birds all over the place but couldn't stop.

It was a beautiful day as well, bit cold in the morning but nice and warm by lunchtime.

Tried to take pictures of two birds on a roof of an old building. They were all black, Like Carrion Crows but smaller, bigger than blackbird and making a chough...

Busy with work. Trying to find a moment to stop and take a picture or two.
Travelled to the Ayrshire coast way for my job and thought if I don't get pictures of birds or spot unusual ones or not everyday ones I tend to see, I will take pics of the big metal birds that come and go from Prestwick Airport. Ha!
The volcano in Iceland put a stop to that didn't it LOL
Going on holiday next week so hopefully it settles down by then.

Saw a bird of prey sitting...

Work

Posted 12-04-10 at 07:28 PM by Maggie28

Got a job, guy calls on Saturday after I applied on Friday.
So was out and about all day today and didn't get much chance to see birds or wander about
It was my first day so once I settle in I hope to spot some new birds on my travels. I will get to travel to Edinburgh, Inverness, Motherwell, Ayshire, practically everywhere in Scotland.
I applied for a job with Glasgow City Council but true to form, they have not got back to me as expected. This does not surprise me as they...

I do not do blogs but thought I would give it a go. Don't expect much.

Set off on Saturday 10th of April 2010 to head for Anstruther. Luckily I woke up just after 6am as I had set my alarm for 6 am but had forgotten to change the clock last week. I thought I woke up just after 5am. Decided to get up anyway and when I thought I had plenty of time, I was suddenly rushing about as I realised what time it really was.
Firstly had to pick up my sister in Barrhead, who was coming...
