saltees

bank holiday weekend coming up here in ireland
Am planning day photography trip to saltee island off the wexford coast, it,s the irish equivalent of the uk farne islands.

protected island in private ownership, but highly recommended for fantastic birding

you can catch a ferry from kilmore quay, co.wexford, island is approx 3 km from the mainland, last bit is by rib!

Went for a one day birdphotography class to west cork
A place called rathcormack, well worth the 3 hour drive.

west Cork has it,s own microclimate, always a few degrees warmer then in the midlands, especially during the winter.

Tody was a great oportunity to spot some waders, today was about how to improve on technique rather then to photograph a lot of different varieties.

Thew village itself was pittoresque, swarmed with tourists looking for...

Decided to give it a go!

Hi all, decided to sart blogging, so I can let the forum know about the south of ireland and it,s birdwatch opportunities.

I live in a small village called camross, it is in the slieve bloom mountains (more hills than actual mountains) but sparsley populated and endowed with quite a bit of forresty. It,s about 100 KM south west of Dublin.

The midland are relativelye flat, these hills are sort of "sticking out".

Ireland is like a plate, edges...
