Question Canon Image Stabilsing Binoculars

Since most best advise says 8x to 10x magnification is best, has anyone tried the Canon Image Stabilsing Binoculars?

Are they as good as they sound?

Im fortunate enough to have the use of a couple of pairs of 18x50s at work they are very good for long range but are quite heavy & are really hard on batteries when using the IS.
