Question Canon EOS 50D

The Canon EOS 50D is a 15.1-megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera. It is part of the Canon EOS line of cameras and succeeds the EOS 40D.

The Canon EOS 50D was released in October 2008.

Anyone out there with any views on the performance of the Canon EOS 50D for bird photography?

I've just bought an EOS 50D. Waiting for lenses etc and then to learn how to use it all!
Will add comments about the camera when I have gathered some data and images.

C hange from Pentax to Canon EOS 50D had it about five months All photograph,s posted here in the Forum taken with the D50.........still learning testing and adjusting but getting there
good camera does the job for its price range......simple to use good CD packet with the D50
Would recommend it....Fits the Hand Depending on Lens size....Monopod or Tripod recommended.

A friend got one in the summer there and I can say the macro feature on it is terrifc.
I was showing him how I couldn't get too close with my sony a300, I had to stand back about 5 feet before it would focus and take a picture,
He tried his (being new) and he was like an inch from the tolerant bee on a flower.
What a picture compared to my crappy camera at macro mode.
I get better macro shots with my panasonic lumix than I do with the Sony A300.

Anyway, the macro mode on Canon is superb! Then he took a picture of a flying swan on the Clyde. Brilliant result compared to mine.
