Looking at my records again mine was indeed a juv female as there is no markings on the nape at all and even the female has some colour on her.......yours must have been a spectacular sighting.

Certainly was, probably my favourite birding moment yet! Sods law that we didn't have the camera available (or rather, we did but it had no battery!)

Male Woodchat Shrikes are stunning birds, below is one I digiscoped in Lesbos in 2003

Default So Far so good

Hi everyone,
Due to other commitments i have not been able to spend any time on the site recently but things are carming down now so i would like to update, I have now purchased the Nikon P6000 along with a remote control instead of the Canon Ixus 980 IS; Images i have taken so far have turned out fairly good and i cant wait to get out to my local water park.

The camera when set up to the DCB works fine and to switch from taking a shot to veiwing is just a quick flick up of the DCB arm, altogether i am well chuffed with my complete setup.

It gets easier with practise Judith,tho saying that I failed miserably yesterday trying to get an image of a Med Gull in sinking sand (me not the Gull!!) and with an on shore gale blowing the equipment around!!!!
