The house next door has been empty for a couple of years. Finally it has been sold. They are now tidying up the garden. To my great joy. They have removed a tree which was growing right next to a corner of my house. I am sure the roots must have been penetrating my foundations. Their garden is almost like a small orchard. Very condusive to bird life. I am just hoping that they appreciate birds, whoever moves in.
Robin, Starling, Blue tit, Great tit & Collared Dove on the feeders this morning. Which all need replenishing. Last edited by Callander1; 05-12-09 at 09:16 AM. Reason: Because I forgot to mention the Robin |

I never seem to attract any Finches either, they just completely blank my garden for some reason. In the last 12 months or so i have only had very breif visits from a single female Greenfinch back in march and a juvunile Goldfinch about 2 months ago, both visited once and never returned!!.
Birds i have seen in my garden recently have been House Sparrows Starlings Blackbirds Dunnock Wren Robins Blue Tit Coal Tit Great Tit Long Tailed Tit Wood Pigeon Collard Dove Feral Pigeon, a single bird visits daily Magpie Also just in the last week or 2 i am getting a daily visit from a Song Thrush. |
