Default Blackbird up-date

The day after the birds fledged we had our work cut out, they were getting stuck in tubs, cat was in the garden, our dog wanted to play! Also there was another male Blackbird picking fights with dad.
We were down to two chicks in the garden, but sadly I found one in the pond this morning.
The last one is doing ok parents still feeding it,but it is a long way of from flying. I did not think they would leave the nest and not be able to fly in the first couple of days

Sad news with the pond fatality Amanda. Can you put netting over the pond while the fledglings are around, my pond is netted all year round as a Heron tries it's luck at times. Fingers crossed the remaining fledgling will survive!

That's a shame Amanda but here's hoping the last one survives with it getting it all the attention just now.

Keep us informed on how it goes.
