Blackcap

A male Blackcap arrived in the garden Friday and was very active in the garden today defending the fat ball feeder from Long-tailed Tits,Blue Tits and had a bit of a scrap with a Dunnock . Very interesting to watch. Also seem very late as I have one usually turn up Nov/Dec

Hi nice that you have blackcap visit, and in winter, as most
of them do migrate, but over recent years a few
do over winter in the UK is it a male or female brown head

Here is a break down of the first month and last month I have recorded Blackcaps in the garden since 2012

Dec 2012 to April 2013
Dec 2013 to Jan 2014
Nov 2014 to Jan 2015
Jan 2016 to Jan2016
Jan 2017 to Feb 2017
Jan 2018 -wonder how long he will stay around
As you can see I did not see any Blackcaps in the during the Nov-Dec months of 2015 think it was very mild then with lots of flooding if I remember correctly
