I have just caught up with this thread and see you have added some more pics, Simon, and very nice they are too! A little cracker is your Brown Magpie!!

I didn't know birds had this problem too.

Usually you hear of animals, but not birds.

I hadn't seen this bird for about six weeks, so thought perhaps that we'd lost it, but saw it overfly the garden a couple of days ago, so it's still with us.

After having had a leucistic magpie last year, it seems that I've got another one this year. The magpies were nesting in next door's fir tree and I think that they must have fledged today. This afternoon there were three young magpies in the adjacent tree and one of them was brown and white!

How odd and coincidental .....I wonder if it is the same parents this year?????

You should send the pics into Springwatch Simon as they are asking folk to send in unusually coloured birds/mammals etc!
