Yes it was very good, and been a plumber I realy appreciated that, but the best thing was how they made the wings, so they were so strong but very light, it was like compressing bubble wrap, if you ever go to mildenhall give me a shout and i will let you know how to get to the viewing farm, amazing. best regards mac

This thread brings back fond memories for me.

My dad was stationed at Orford Ness during the cold war and we lived less than a mile from the coast in Suffolk. Regular fly pasts and exercises involving both the USAF and RAF were common. Bentwaters, Mildenhall and Lakenheath were very active.

Lockheed F-104 Starfighter's, F4 Phantom's, Nimrods, Vulcans, Charlie 130's, to name a few. Parachute flares lighting up the coast and the SAM Missile site half a mile away at RAF Bawdsy...................Yep fond memories.

Yes I did Mac. I didn't know at the time but there were some very sneaky beaky type things going on on that little unassuming island. I'm not living there any more but like you always enjoy going back.
