OK Judith, I can see a Whimbrel in pic 2 of your last post, but I'm blowed if I can spot it in pic 1 let alone in the original picture .

I have found my original "immature gull" though, so its still there; with your permission I'll download your original picture and try to highlight it.

I see what you were getting at now Tony. In all honesty I had not spotted the '2nd bird'. I reckon it was a Little Egret as they were around in small numbers on the coast. If it were a gull it would be Yellow-legged gull.
