A sign we are nearing Christmas methinks Peter! Good that other reserves and optic sellers are made aware of the thief/thieves? in the video!

I never leave any form of optics in my car when out and about after having items stolen from the boot of our hire car a few years ago in Portugal. We were unknowingly followed and whilst we were enjoying a coffee...well you can guess the rest.

Hope the cut his hands off when they catch him one of the worst kinds of crime and so blatant with it. I am sure someone will reconise him.

The other guy in the dark hat is almost definitely an accomplice. Watch carefully and you'll see he is fully aware of the guy in the light grey hat and he covers for the thief just before the bins go in his jacket. The police probably need to be IDing both guys.

A classic step-across distraction move at the crucial moment

If 3 pairs were stolen on the Saturday why wasn't security more thorough on the Sunday? Weird!

Why they didn't have them chained to the bench or kept under the counter I don't know.

It's not the In Focus shop. That is a temporary stall set up in the visitor centre for the birdwatching festival.

Security does look surprisingly minimal given the presence of such big ticket items, but the first class video should produce some response surely. Hope so anyway.
