Sorry for not being in touch for ages, lol Wedding plans and family stuff has kept me pretty busy these past few months, would be great to meet up again. So if you find you have any spare Sundays in the next month these are my best days , take good care Rod.

Thanks mac but they are not in Herefordshire. I was away for a few days in Devon with Mrs m and not really looking for birds - so was very lucky, as Stuart says the cirl bunting range is tiny and I just happened to drop on them.

I don't know really. I've only ever had the cheap scopes you get from Aldi or Lidl which are pretty awful. Don't really have a massive amount of money so was looking at the one in the RSPB shop for 199. Though it may be a while before we have the spare money for that. To be honest, I don't really know much about scopes. I got my binoculars from the RSPB and thats why I had looked at their scopes too.

Set off today intended going up to Reeth to see the Black Grouse, but headed towards Skipton, before I realized we were going in the wrong direction, never mind it was market day so had an hour going round the stalls, and buying some things, had a bite to eat and a coffee, before setting of over Blubber houses,As we got over the tops and joined the Pately rd, Helen said look a buzzard but as we turned towards it, and had a proper look, it was a female Hen Harrier, so that made our day. when I said...

Last Friday Helen had booked half a day off, so we could set off to Scotland, and get to Moffat before dark, well we also got word that her new Audi4 would be ready to be picked up, but as it happened she was late getting away from her office, (joy's of management) then when she went for her car, she had to wait while they did a valet on it, by the time she arrived home it was after 2-00 so after a sandwich & soup we managed to get off for 2.45, the journey up was fine the car very comfy, and...

This lunch time I had arranged to meet my wife for lunch, as i was going through the villages to get to wetherby I had three sightings of both kite & buzzard, these birds are getting quite numerous now, which is really good.
we had a walk round the market and the shop's it was lovely walking without hat & gloves, and the sun shinning on everyone, it had a real spring feeling, I set off back to harrogate, but decided to go Via Staveley, in the hope that the waxwings may be still around,...
