Kestrel??? hard to judge the size???

I'd say almost certainly not, Ruth. It was owl sized, broader winged and lighter coloured than a kestrel, I saw this one back in September in Norfolk. Theres a thread about it called 'An unusual request' in What is that Bird?

I'm impressed you had a go though, its a dreadful pic!
