These are another funny bird to watch, i was watching "The life of birds" with David Atenborough and a small section was about these Sparrows.
It was stated that they never squabble among themselves as there is a line of authority marked by the darkness and size of their bibs on the top of the chest.
The larger the bib, the more senior the ranking of the bird, starting with Privates, then Sargent's, Captains and then Generals.
This one in question has a Sargent's Bib, but of course if a General is feeding, non of the others gets in on the feeding act, and any disputes like a place to have a dust bath, a senior ranking officer sorts them out.
