Thanks for the comments, Ruth & Maggie. When we walked down a steep track to the coastal path near our holiday cottage at East Prawle we saw a couple of juveniles first. Only the fact that we were expecting cirl buntings in the area gave a clue as to what they might be. Later we saw more juveniles with some adults and could confirm the species.
